Friday, January 13th, 2012Simon is currently prepping to shoot his second feature, “Judas Ghost”, in March for 18 days. The film is a fantasy/horror set entirely within the confines of an old village hall, where a team of professional ghost hunters has been dispatched to make a training video that goes badly wrong, when the spirit they encounter turns out to be far worse than they first anticipated…..
The film is an original screenplay written by New York Times best-selling author Simon R. Green, and is based on his “Ghost Finders” book series. For more on Simon and his books, check out www.simonrgreen.co.uk
The film will be shot on the Alexa and filmed at Eyelights Studio in Portishead.

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011Simon’s short film “Broken” was recently selected for an “Award of Excellence” at the LA Movie Awards 2011, an online awards ceremony set up to support independent film-makers around the world. Categories for competition include shorts, features, music videos and animation.
Paul Tonkin also received an award for “Best Supporting Actor” in a short. Paul plays the lead in Simon’s next short “Intruder”, which is currently in post-production. The trailer for that can be found at the link below:

Sunday, May 15th, 2011Simon’s short film “Brian the Bear”, filmed for last year’s Virgin Media competition, has been “highly commended” by the judges and recently selected as one of three runners up in the 2011 John Brabourne awards for Best Newcomer, sponsored by Production Wizard. Meanwhile, Simon is preparing to shoot his next film “Intruder”, over 3 days, on the 20th-22nd May in Bristol. Danny Hargreaves from REEL FX (Being Human, Doctor Who) has recently come on-board to provide the practical FX for the film.

Thursday, April 7th, 2011Simon is currently prepping to direct an original horror feature film, written by New York Times best-selling author Simon R. Green, which will shoot in Bristol in winter 2011. The movie will be filmed entirely in a studio on HD.

Shooting on his next short “Intruder” is also set to take place in late May, after an unfortunate clash with another production at their chosen location delayed filming from the end of March. The short will be shot over 3 days on the Canon EOS 5D camera.

Thursday, February 17th, 2011Post-production on Simon’s latest short “Broken” is almost complete. The film has been graded and is currently in the hands of composer Kevin D. Hoover who is working on the score (http://kiddmedia.com/home.html).
Simon is currently also prepping for his next short, “Intruder”, which he also wrote and is set to shoot in March. Filming will take place at the Bottle Yard in Bristol.
December 2010
Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010Simon has just wrapped on his latest short film “Broken”, with post-production starting in a couple of weeks time. The film was shot for three days in and around Bristol on Digi-Beta, and will be submitted to festivals in the new year.
The film is a 10-15 minute drama about a young female war veteran struggling to adjust to life at home, following a tragic event during her tour.
Simon is also still in development on a new low-budget feature film script with writing partner Chris Marshfield, currently entitled “Shades of Grey”, for 2011. More details coming soon.

Friday, August 27th, 2010Simon is currently in pre-production on a low-budget action thriller for summer 2011, tentatively titled “Thieves.”
Written by long-term writing partner Chris Marshfield, the film is pitched as “Payback” meets “The Escapist” and is a revenge/heist movie that will be shot in and around Bristol.
In other news, Simon is prepping to start shooting his next short film “Broken” in November, which he’ll be producing alongside his ITV Workshop tutor Paul Dudbridge of Hanover Pictures (www.hanoverpictures.co.uk). More details can be found on that film in the “Projects” page, and auditions are set to take place in September.

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Simon is currently in pre-production on a low-budget action thriller for summer 2010, tentatively titled “Thieves.” With a script by Chris Marshfield, the film will be co-produced by Lightworx Media and Sleeper Cell Productions.
Pitched as “Payback” meets “The Escapist” the film is a revenge/heist movie that will be shot in and around Bristol for a release in late 2010/early 2011. The team are currently location hunting as well as seeking their cast and crew, whilst Chris puts the finishing touches to the script.
In other news, congratulations to Simon’s long-term writing partner Chris Marshfield, whose graduation film “Brennan’s Sacrament” has already scooped up two awards on the festival circuit, including an Excellence award at the Canadian International Film Festival and an award for “Best Student Film” at the British Independent Film Festival. Well deserved Chris!
